I've read the FAQ, several times... I've searched for every topic not found in the FAQ - almost none.
I've downloaded suggested software out the wazoo during my wait for the unit.
And I even bought a home docking station, and red lens, for the RioCar I haven't yet received.
Today.... Mr Fed Ex will deliver the GOODS.

It feels like 1966, Christmas Day, once again.

Yup, I remember the day mine arrived. I drove the 40 minutes home at lunch to pick it up and the 40 minutes back, even though all I could do with it for the rest of the day was to power it up and look at it.

I uncorked a bottle of super-premium wine from my cellar for that ocasion. Was very nice.

I went into work on a day off just to get a US to UK power adaptor.

I was at work and the USPS man came when I wasn't home, so the little red "We missed you, package at the post office" slip was all I had to come home to. Worse, I had to wait until the next day to go pick the box up at the post office.

But when I finally got it, oh boy, I uploaded the month's worth of newly ID3 tagged and organized music and I was SET! Within 10 days, I had it installed in my car, and after a brief return visit to the installer to fix the ground noise, I was set. Dark Green lenses were ordered from Darkstorm, pictures were taken, and the install pr0n was posted.

Well, after 4 Darkstorm lenses, a second empeg, a new hard drive, a Mark Lord dock, an RMA'ed hard drive, and a Eutronix button/knob light kit; I'm STILL impressed by my empeg every time I glance down and see it doing some awesome real-time visual or something. Such quality!

Shades of '99....

Good man, you are about to go through what I can describe in all honesty as a Life Changing Experience - no joke. Enjoy yourself!

It's great to see this post - reminds me of the early days....

I got my baby late yesterday afternoon and I couldn't wait for the family to go to sleep so I could go back into my office. (I don't think I've ever said that before. )

I didn't get to bed until almost 4am, and now have to get outta my office to get ready to go to my daughters 4th grade graduation. Still, I thought I'd quickly post before going to do so.

I have the unit hooked up in my office to my network and instlled the latest Emplode to my PC. Using an ethernet connection I was able, after two sync failures to download three albums of music to the RioCar. I have some questions, which I can't find in the FAQ, but I'll post those Qs in another thread...

Otherwise, all seems to be working perfectly! This thing is soooooo cooooool. I can't imagine waiting so long to get this unit or any MP3 unit.

The synch failures trouble me. It shouldn't do that if you're using Emplode 2.0, player firmware 2.0, a good ethernet connection, and there are no problems with the disk drives.
