Only the installation procedure is likely time-limited. Once you've installed you're good to go. Apple is rolling this functionality into their next major OS update. They may very well release a non-beta version without any time limits though.

Same warning they put on the X11 app back in 10.2, before it was made final and released for 10.2, and integrated into 10.3. Pretty much a timebomb to keep old code out there from being used down the road when newer, likely final code is out.
