I just noted that my empegs L and R audio channels are connected to the head-unit the wrong way.
Is there a way to change this by the players sw. eg. reverse the L and R channel? It would be great not to open up everything again...

Thanks KeNny

Heh heh.. messy, but doable in software (inside the Hijack kernel). Trouble is, you'll have to do it yourself. I do accept patches, though.

Okay, I take that back, now that I've actually tried to do it here.

I added four lines of code to swap the left/right channel data in the kernel, and that part worked okay. But things like the Radio output, Balance, etc.. all still use hardware left/right designations, so.. not too useful.

Best is to try and reach up under the dash and flip the two wires around.

Good Luck!

Thanks for the input. I guess I will try to solve it by the wires. This way it's done wright in the first place!

Have a great time!

Where is your amp? Most people have it in the trunk and relatively easily accessible. If yours is there, flip the cables on the amp side. They might be labeled wrong, but they'll work right.

Well, I also have a cool head unit and the empeg is connected to this one... So I need to get behind the head unit -which is a real pain. Basically I need to remove the whole thing which is a lot of work.
Changing the channels on the AMP and my head unit is mixed up.
But thanks anyway.

Ah. Gotcha.

I have managed to do some minor work on the connections by sticking my hands through the dock. There's a reasonably sized hole in the back, if you have small hands, to grab some cables and pull them through.
