Has anyone ripped UB40 "Food for Thought"? I have ripped it at VBR Joint Stereo and I am hearing weird artefacts in the multi-tracked voices around 50 seconds into the track. I can't tell if they're on the original CD (I can't hear it) but no matter which setting I'm using, I can't seem to get rid of it on the MP3.

Anyone else able to comment? Ripper is Audio Catalyst.

No, I have always encoded directly from CD to MP3.

Rob, check out this thread.

It's likely that you're not having problems in the encode, you could be having problems with the rip. Stereo image issues are sometimes due to a bad rip and don't have anything to do with MP3 encoding.
