This skit originally aired as part of Fox's MADtv back in December of 1998. I think it's a perfect example of how blogging has worked for the past few years. In fact, some of the most popular, or at least larger, blogs are putting forth better examples of this every day. You know the ones. They pretend to be news outlets.

I saw the skit when it originally aired and over the past few years I've thought about it in relation to regurgitation news blogging, but just hadn't bothered to search for the video clip. It's still one of my favorite from the show and I think a fitting allusion to the current state of many blogs, whose staff can, in large part, be replaced with semi-intelligent scraping scripts.
