I need to buy a replacement (left side) fan for my early 2008 MacBook Pro. From what i've read, iFixit.com has the best parts, but it is a little expensive for a fan ($50). Does anyone know of a reliable place to buy parts (didn't want to use ebay)?

I had the same problem to replace a noisy fan in my wife's 13" MBP... I looked at ifixit and various other mac parts suppliers but they did all seem rather expensive.

I ended up getting one from ebay seller "cpiinc" for $13 and it worked like a dream. Any specific reason you didn't want to try eBay? The part appears to be a very clean pull from another macbook - markings, wiring, etc all identical to the original part.

eBay store: http://www.ebay.co.uk/sch/cpiinc/m.html?_nkw=&_armrs=1&_from=&_ipg=&_trksid=p3686

...no connection, just a satisfied customer.

You can check with a local Apple Authorized Service Provider in your area to see if they might be willing to sell it for cheaper.

(Odd that an official Apple page would show someone sliding a hard drive into some generic PC case instead of showing a Mac repair)
