I've looked a bit, but for some reason I can't find anything on these boards about getting a compiler onto the empeg. Where can I get a compiler that will work with the empeg, or do you guys just do development on another machine and use a cross-compiler, and then zmodem up the files?

It's far easier (and faster) to cross compile on an x86 box - I'm sure there are details in some of the developer sites. www.riocar.org is a good place to start.

Mark's page has a cross-compiler that'll do you right. Glad to see another hacker joining the fray.

Definitly go the cross compiler route. I took the time a while back to get my empeg completly set up to do compiling, and it took 2 hours to churn out a kernel. The spare lab server at my desk on the other hand took 2 minutes.

It was cool to have apt-get working from the empeg though :-)
