The release notes state:

Fixed: Seek Tool not showing current position (#1582)

However I'm not seeing it fixed on my player. The seek tool has still stalled on my Empeg after applying 2.0b11. The track time doesn't increase when I play, and the seek graph isn't updating.

Is that for all tracks or a track which had previously been hit with that problem? Wonder if it's some state issue.

Of course I never did have any problems with the seek vis. I've barely used b11, so the only trouble I've had so far is the transient after rebooting. Plus emplode showing double-vis names in the fav picker.

In 2.0b7 it appeared to just come and go. Sometimes a reboot would fix it, other times not.

Right now I've done a few reboots and changed tracks a few times and I still have no updates at all to the seek tool. Track time at 0:00.00 and no graphs. If I go to songs I know have graphs, the graphs do indeed show up, but the progress line doesn't move.

I'm checking right now in b11 and it seems to be working fine. The only thing I find odd is that I thought that next/prev track buttons on the remote were supposed to skip around from mark to mark. It's just working like it does everywhere else, jumps tracks. Of course I'm sleepy enough now that I can't remember at all how this mode works exactly. The only thing I got to go "weird" was the play icon on the bottom left. By rotating the knob backwards for a while I got the icon to start flickering between pay and rewind - continually (until I changed tracks).

Just for the record - I've never seen this problem either, so I suspect a state problem too. I'm still on b7 at the moment, and hijack 137 (I know, I know - get with the program)

Some state info that may help debug: I typically run Vis: on, Info:Transient (yeah, no problems for ME with b11 ;-). I frequently randomize from root with occasional inserted list or song. I use the flat eq setting #1 mostly.

Could it be encoding-specific? How do you rip the MP3's - anything there, maybe?

Well I just plugged my Empeg in and seek is still frozen. I've tried switching playlists, syncing, changing tracks, etc.

Most of my tracks are at 128kbps CBR. There are some 192 VBR's around, and some miscellaneous test encodes as well. None of them gets my seek tool running, so I think it's more state related than encoding specific. It seemed to be working pretty well towards the end of my 2.0b7 days.

Allrighty well after some talking with Toby D. and seeing Toby S.'s recent post, this problem can be worked around by switching to AUX info mode. Hopefully the powers that be can figure out what's going on. It may or may not have something to do with the tuner... Hmm.
