Hi
I've found that the maximum standbye time before the player shuts down (blue light out) is about 20 minutes. It doesn't matter whether I set the shutdown field in emplode to 18,000 or 180,000.

Has a maximum value been hard coded?

Alternatively, Is there a hidden shutdown value that means "infinite standbye". ie when the ignition goes off, put the player into standbye and leave it there until the ignition comes back on..."?

Cheers

Does anyone know the answer to the above question?

Supposedly, the maximum timeout is 172800000ms, or 48 hours. Since the value in emplode is in seconds, your 180,000 value won't take. It ought to have warned you. Which version of the software was this?

To answer your second question: No, I don't believe that there's a special value to mean "infinite".

Sorry Roger
You are correct and 180,000 was rejected by emplode. The validation does work correctly.

The fault I am reporting, is that even with 178,000 seconds entered into emplode, the player goes from standbye to power off after ~20 minutes.

There is a chance that this is due to a feature of HiJack that I also have installed. I will test this out tonight and let you know.

Thanks for your response

Bruno, thanks for the repost.

Hi Roger

I have just reproduced the problem on a standard 2.0-b11 kernel. Its not related to HiJack.

It should be pretty easy to reproduce.
Set shutdown timer to 178000 in emplode
Drive to pub for .. er, lunch...
Stay in pub for at least 30 minutes
Blue light is off

I've performed the above test many times and it is consistent.

Cheers

Do I perhaps have another manifestation of this problem? I added a followup in "General" about the "player keeps playing" for 10 minutes (or more, I don't know) even when timer is set to 40 seconds. It took me a bit to clue into the fact that this was even a feature -- running Empeg off constant + on a timer -- but it looks like it's not working correctly.

(I'm 2.0b11 and HJ 1.96)

had to bump this to the top to perhaps get an answer to this: is there a problem with having the player go on standby in the car overnight, for say, 10 hours? My player has problems rebooting sometimes in the morning, but when I put it on standby in the house all night it boots just fine.

If this is a possibilty and does no damage to the player, what is 10 hours, in ms? Thanks.

I too find that the unit powers off before I want. I want to be able to use my 802.11 interface at work. If I could set it for 4 hours and it worked I would be very happy.

Please make this possible. This problem only seems to have occured since 2b11.
