SteveBrown stranger Registered: 07/02/2002 Posts: 29	Well, it's been a few weeks since I last posted here and I'm a little closer to completing my custom install so I thought I'd poke my head round the door and let anyone whose interested know how I'm doing. You probably don't remember but I was trying to install 2 head units in my Corrado (giving me the extra options of CD and Radio) but there's only one DIN bay in the dash so I planned on modifying a spare centre console moulding by moving the heater controls down and ditching the ashtray. So far I've managed to: 1) Get hold of 2 spare consoles, one damaged one good. 2) Remove all original mouldings on the good one for the ashtray/cigarette lighter and lugs for the heater controls 3) Cut the DIN housing from the damaged console and Araldite it into the good console directly below the standard one. 4) Fabricate and fix 4 metal lugs for the heater controls below the second DIN bay. I still have to: 1) relocate the cigarette lighter (need it for various 12v accessories) 2) wait for some dry/warm weather so I can install the damn thing into my car! I'm extremely pleased with the progress so far and I have a few pictures I could host somewhere and post links to if anyone's interested or thinking of doing the same thing with their Corrado. Well, to be honest, with a bit of prior planning, a reasonable amount of determination and a large amount of Araldite this sort of thing can be done to just about any car so maybe you should give it a go I'll post more pics once I enter phase 3 - installation. Oh and a rotary hand-tool (like a Dremel) is an absolute godsend!

Used to fill gaps and bond stuff together, not really creating shapes with the glue itself - though you could cast it in a mold I guess.
