well i havent hit panic button yet.. but my player may be messed... its not booting.. and i just reinstalled the kernal and samething.. please dont tell me my hard drive is dead.

unplugged the second hard drive and running how it came when i bought it and getting this,

thats what the second bit seems to indicate. have both the drives been formatted with the player software? Try plugging it into the other drive connector.

yha same thing with the second hard drive? u thin maybe bad cable? stage 2 is going into effect bust out the back up and figure out whats wrong..

well im 80% sure that its a bad cable now.. either that or the pins on my main board are messed up.. as soon i reinstall this upagrade ill know for sure

well crap turns out both hard drive got fried.. hwo could this happen has it happened to anyone else? my next step is to see if jsut the fs got fried by doing a complete drive format and restart it all. if if the accually drives are useless.. damn looks like i need to rebuild my data base.. craphola..

ya i had another cable.. and i replaced it.. i own a few laptops and have the cables laying around.. i got the player working.. but i dont think the cable was the problem.. becuase when i first isntalled the new cable.. everything still went all wack.. i was just messing with it and it somehow worked im not sure what i did

No, they work fine. However they don't fit as good into the Empeg's casing. Therefor Empeg had them custom made.
