Well i didn't just get it. I had it for about 2 months, and didn't do anything to it yet, except put one song on it. It hasn't even been installed yet. I've been using an indash CD player, but now I want to try out the Riocar. What programs or hijack do I need to install, and where do I find them. I've read thru the faq's, but can someone give me a list of programs I need to install, and if there is a specific order i need to install them in. Thanks in advance.

You have got an amp haven't you ?

Otherwise you don't need much else it works striaght out the box

I played around with mine a bit when I first got it and ended up confusing myself for about a day mostly because I was so excited and didn't read through everything. I ended up just putting 2.00 beta 11 on which has some great features, just make sure you upgrade the emplode on your pc as well. I would recomend trying that out for a while to get used to it and maybe adding a little bit more here and there as you read more about whats available.

Hopefully you noticed this somewhere in the FAQ (At least I think it's in the FAQ). If you want to do a big upload of songs (gigs and gigs on your 60Gb player) you're better off doing it with 1.03 and then upgrading to 2.0b11 after that. 2.0b11 seems a little flaky when loading a lot of stuff.

And definitely put Hijack on. Well worth the (very small) effort.

That get's you most of the way. Then it's things like a telnet daemon, preinit etc if you want them. For most people Hijack provides enough extra features. Depends how far you want to go. And how much you want to "play"
