Tonight I went to the Mall of America to buy a PS2 at Electronics Botique I went in bought the PS2 left got to the door exiting the mall and noticed aahhh I left the empeg in the store.
So I ran back to EB and lucky for me it was still sitting on the display I had left it on.

I think it's almost safer just to leave it in the car

It wouldn't have been there if people actually knew what it was!

Aaaah - I've done this too - I left it in a CD bin next to the checkout in Virgin Megastore Reading.

It was there for three or four hours before I realised (oops), and was still there when I got back. Apparently the staff had noticed it, decided it wasn't a bomb and left it alone completely!

Could actually be honest people in the world, maybe. Nahh they didn't know what it was orsince it was in a store were afraid to walk out w/it for fear of alarms going off.

I know there are honest people but in this case I was back so fast I didn't have the chance to see if there were any in the store :-)

Lucky, boy indeed! Seeing as other folks have left theirs in bins, on shelves, etc., I think this cries out for an Empeg fleece vest with a built-in, double-stitched nylon web harness with rigid, appropriately-spaced, non-marking snap shackles so that you can wear your Empeg much like a medallion. Perhaps there could be a gold-chain version with a gold camo MARS cover/medallion.

I am just brain-dead enough that I can not afford to put the Empeg down. I had a tatoo done on the medial aspect of my left wrist that says "Remember the Empeg".

Well, it was in the 'empeg' carry case, so I suppose they may not have known.

Suffice to say - I don't do that any more.

I developed the habit of bagging the empeg before getting out of the Mini, opening the door and swinging it onto the roof of the car, then climbing out (you know how it is with Minis ). A few weeks back, I parked it in the middle of Dorking, climbed out with a load of other stuff and walked away. We were sat eating lunch in a cafe about two hours later when I was struck by the thought that there was something missing....

This rapidly turned into sheer panic as I realised Emma wasn't on the table. We then spent the next hour going round all the shops we had been into, asking if it had been handed in. No joy. I was utterly livid with myself. Really downhearted, I walked back to the Mini so we could drive up to the Police station to report it as lost. No address on the case, no power supply in the bag, no name in the bag. Damn, damn, damn

When we got to the car I nearly wet my pants in relief - it was lying on the roof of the car, in full view (little black bag, white roof!). It had been there for something like 4 hours in the sunshine.

Address labels are probably a good idea, and I have just invested in a pair of handcuffs and some stem cell injections.....
