Earlier today, my player refused to boot stating the oft encountered "No Hard Disk Found Contact Support" message. My fear was all my tinkering with the thing somehow damaged something. As it turns out, it's just a bad IDE cable. It's back up and running now on the end connector. Can't wait to gwet the replacement cable so I can put it all back together.
Right now I'm enjoying wireless S/PDIF output from my resurrected RioCar. I am feeling very proud of myself. Gonna get cracking on the SMT board tomorrow. Somebody else can fix the missing beeps if they want. Programming is definitely not my forte.
