I want the best head unit out there to hook up to my rio 60.Any ideas as to the best make and model.I was thinking of getting the pioneer DEX-P9 or DEH-P740,comes with the stering wheel remote.Thanks for any thoughts.

better yet.. skip the head unit, and just use the empeg.. I've been using just my empeg for over a year now, and it's perfect all on it's own

you don't have to get a really big amplifier, just one that does what you want it to...

anyway.. the empeg was designed to run on it's own.. it's best used that way

If you don't need the head unit (for CD or radio) don't bother using one.

Otherwise start comparing the top models of Clarion, Alpine, Eclipse, Mcintosh, Nakamichi, Denon, etc. The top models should be completely amp-free.

Then you still have a choice of using either the empeg or the head unit as your preamp.
