The extra ID3v2 fields are not used or loaded into the player's database. When you view track details on the player, you are not viewing the tags, you are viewing the database. The tags are actually not used. The only time the tags get used is when you first drop the file onto emplode. Then it grabs the appropriate fields to fill out its database. It only uses the fields you see in the emplode screen, no others.

Thats a pity, because that could have been a very cool feature.
Ppl keep asking me when im in the car - oooo whats the lead singers name for this band - while i tend to know most of them it would be nice to just be able to tap a few buttons and get a nice blurb on tghe band

And in my experience, ID3V2 won't help you with this, because the only way that information is going to get into the file is if you enter it for each and every file in your collection.

I mean, it takes me long enough just to get the CDDB typos edited out of my tracks, let alone hand-entering all of that data. That would be just insane.

Actually, you can view anything in the comments field by holding down the "Info" button on the remote and bringing up the "Details" view. You're limited to 244 characters though. Tony, ya jumped the gun =]

Yes, in his other post (in another forum) I answered it that way.

But when he said "the other ID3v2 fields", I thought he meant fields other than the ones you can already see in the emplode database.
