Just out of curiosity, I was wondering how the 40 players had been distributed throughout the world.

Are they mainly going to US/UK/Western Europe clients or have they been fairly evenly spread?

I don't expect to find any deep meaning (unless joining the locations on a map spells something interesting) but like I said, I'm just curious.

(Mine is scheduled for delivery before noon today, so I will get my first look at it in a few hours, all being well.)
Just phoned home, and it's arrived! Now I have to struggle through the rest of the day knowing that it is waiting for me

24 to the USA, 9 to Europe, 6 to the UK and 1 to Australia.

I think the reason for the USA skew is because these are early registered clients, and most of those registrations resulted from Slashdot coverage (which has a largely north american readership).

I would usually expect around 50% to the USA, 15% to the UK, 25% to Western Europe and the rest spread throughout the world.

That's pretty much what I was expecting, thanks Rob.

I think it's really interesting that the internet allows a reasonably small (no offence guys) startup company to operate with at least 50% of its initial client base located on another continent! Actually, around the time I got my Mk1, I was on holiday in Canada. I was telling a cousin of mine about the empeg (she glazed over a bit when I started to get all techie and evangelical) and she was very excited about the idea of marketing a product almost solely via the internet... sorry, I'm rambling...

I think I found the site originally via a Slashdot article about Hugo's MP3Mobile, and managed to register for an empeg at almost the same time I started to get interested in MP3.

Lucky timing or what?
