Over in the Technical forum, Terminator just pointed me in the direction of a great piece of software. I wanted to post it to the General forum just in case there are folks here who don't read the Technical forum.

The program is called "Encspot" and it can analyze your MP3 collection and tell you what encoder was used for each file. It's fantastic! (Assuming that you need a program which does this, of course.)
