I just found JEmpeg 1.0b1 and contrary to 0.9.13 this one does seem to work with my setup (which was prolly to blame anyway) ...

Makes reordering and fixing the mess I call my MP3 db a lot easier. Thanks to the makers.

It's actually awesome, I think the empeg is one of the only MP3 players who has a UI for this many different OS'es thanks to this marvel.

Cheers,
Hans

Thanks for the kind words... I will be doing a 1.1 port when I get a free moment, so look for that when 1.1 officially comes out.

What is it?
It's Java software equivalent to emplode.

What does it do?
Organise your mp3's on empeg car.

You know what's odd (and awesome) ? I have these problems during syncing over ethernet where the sync/upload hangs (using the linux emptool). Most likely my setup or something which causes it (I have one of those 2-speed hubs or possibly even a 2 speed switch, it's a pretty generic brand with the worst documentation ever so) hang. Emptool dies or gives up on the sync alltogether. JEmpeg doesn't. It recovers from those stalled syncs after 10 or so seconds. That really helps for me. Not sure if all the functionality of the standard windows emplode tool is in it already (don't have windows no more) but it has enough to suit my needs at the moment. There is a few things that need to be tweaked still but for me it is more then just useable.

Great stuff.
Cheers,
Hans
