I don't know if this belongs in the General, ICE or Technical forum.

Is one possible solution to the lack of any tuner now and any AM tuner in the foreseeable future to use a combination of the Blaupunkt/Bosch D-Fire receiver and the DAB-Team's USB module and linux decoding software (http://dab.in.tum.de/README)? I'm sure there are problems (access to the USB port when in the docking cradle, incompatible kernel version requirements, creating an interface etc., not to mention the cost implications), but could this be made to work in principle?

Or have empeg spoken to their Cambridge neighbours Radioscape (http://www.radioscape.com/) about options to port/license their software DAB tuning system? Or how about seeing whether Psion want to adapt their Wavefinder product (http://www.wavefinder.com) to cooperate with the empeg?

I know it is probably simpler to just have a cable hanging off the Aux input to attach an analogue tuner to, but apart from the inelegance of that solution, I am worried about the sound quality (the tuner would not have an external aerial), and it seems somehow more appropriate to have a digital music solution, like the empeg, use digital radio. And as the processing power is there, it seems a shame not to use it.
