Check out www.pricewatch.com ! They were just listed!

EDIT: They are HELLA expensive and only one vendor is listed, but this will surely make other vendors push for them (not just OEM's) and will continue to lower the 40 and 48GB Drives!

I'll wait until the 120GB drives come out before I consider buying the 60's. 48's are still at a premium per MB. 60GB should do me for a while (it's going to be at least until the end of the year before I buy enough CDs to fill up the remaining 17GB I have free).

If I would have known that I could buy a 20 gig laptop drive for 90 dollars and just upgrade my 12 gig player, I wouldn't have dropped $499 on a 60 gig player....

Damn I wish I would have seen that link a month ago...

You could always pull one of the 30gb drives in your RioCar and sell it.... but that would mean removing the music on your player and putting it back on again... probably not worth the trouble, but if that 30gb drive is just SITTING there, you could re-coupe some of your costs.

Yes, this is why the 10GB players were the first ones to sell out during the big clearance sale.

Not neccessarily. If you have less than 30GB of music on the player, just move any fid that exists in /drive1/fids to /drive0/fids and you should then be clear to remove the slave disk without any music loss.

Tempting, but after thinking about it, I could never sell either of my EMPEGS, even if the dimmer isn't working right in my mk2a...

I love my EMPEGS.

No, no. You don't sell the empeg. Just the drives sitting in there. I am selling my 10gb drive that came with my RioCar because the RioCar is just sitting there now.. why not make some $$ and let someone get a 10gb drive to upgrade with at a deal? Everyone wins!

Then, when I'm ready to use the RioCar I bought as backup (actually I am using it - my older Mk2 is sitting as the backup) I can buy a drive for it. By that time, drives will be bigger for the $.

I asked on the BBS a few weeks back if anyone had any 30gb drives sitting around. A few people contacted me and I bought one. So now, that person has some $$ to spend instead of a drive collecting dust. And I got a good deal. Not only that, but I didn't have to run the drive-builder software!
