Have you been there before? I think you'll love that trip. For your return trip, consider taking the Cassiar Highway, which is a western alternative to the Alcan. The Cassiar is *much* more scenic, not that it will matter since it will be dark most of the time you're up there.

How long are you going to be up there?

I travelled to AK from Minneapolis on my motorcycle a year and a half ago. Alaska is an amazing place and I think about it every day. I want to move there. Of course, I was there in July and August, so I don't have the complete picture... Anchorage actually has more mild winters than Minneapolis, though it is considerably darker. I'm looking for work up there.
