I don't (currently) own a Subaru, but I'm going to be doing this 48-hour driving event. I know a lot of empeggers have WRXs, so maybe you guys would like to attend also.

You're thinking about buying a '93 SVX?

I might think about doing this thing, but may be a bit tired after the New Years party at Avaland in Boston with DJ Ferry Corsten!

The dude got a couple of the numbers wrong. I have a 9-3 Viggen (not 9-2) and I'm very close to buying a 92 SVX (not 93). But yeah, I plan to add an SVX to my arsenal (getting rid of the Trooper).

Maybe the guy had a practical joke played on him and someone swapped his "2" and "3" keys on his keyboard.

I hope you would notice that 3 doesn't usually follow 1.

Maybe he meant that the 2 keycap produced a 3 keycode and vice versa.

This is waaay too much thought to put into a throwaway joke like that.

Okay, okay....

The guy who typed the mistake (heretoafter referred to as the "victim") was dyslexic and drunk. He was just coming off a bender, saw your e-mail, and typed in the wrong digits because of the practical joke. The victim did not realize his mistake until after uploading the html file to his website, and tried to correct the problem by changing the html file locally, then uploading said html file up to his web server.

The problem is, the victim's password contains BOTH a 2 and 3 (as we all know, numbers mixed with letters ensure strong passwords) and while trying to FTP into the web server, locked out his account after 3 failed login attempts. The victim flew into a rage, knocked over his monitor (crushing his favorite African Violet plant) and kicked his PC case out the window. This sealed the fate of the webpage, forever dooming the text to be incorrect.

WRX people....

Some pics of the Saab 9-2X were released today. Check 'em out:
http://www.nysoc.com/gallery/album37

If you didn't know, the 9-2X is a WRX wagon rebadge.

Niiiiiiiiiiiiiiice.

Edit: after lookin' at all of them... I like the wheels... but overall i like the WRX better.. The interior looks pretty bad... and they didn't even use the center tach!

What market is the 9-2x for? There is nothing Saab about that car at all. Where is the center console ignition? The smooth sweeping tail?

They think that they can slap on the front cowl and call it a Saab, but the result is more of a really nice Subaru and a really ugly Saab.

I imagine it's for people who want an up-market Subaru. I know that one of my qualms about getting a Subaru (which I didn't) was the cheesy interior. GM will probably upgrade it a decent amount for the Saab, even if they downgraded the regular Saab interiors when they acquired the company.

Had my WRX for about a year now, and my only qualms stem from the cheesy *exterior* -- the paint. It literally can be nicked with a fingernail (or a ski-gloved hand, soft-plastic ice scraper, or rubber bike handlebar) -- ask me how I know. Compared to the paint on any of my german cars, it don't.

But then, I'm the guy who special-ordered a U.S.-spec BMW with cloth interior, no cruise control and manual A/C controls, so when it comes to interiors, don't get me started on CHEESE CONTENT.

Just updating an old thread....

I bought an SVX two weeks ago and the driving event linked at the beginning of the thread ended last night.
Here are the pics I took

It was a pretty excellent time.
