I did the ING Bank deal last year and that worked out nicely. Anybody know of any other deals?

I continue to think that TaxAct is a good deal at $0 for federal taxes.

H&R Block mailed me a copy of TaxCut, gratis (I have no idea why). I decided to spend $30 on TurboTax Basic, since it does everything I could need, and it tends to integrate nicely with Quicken, which I've been using forever.

And ditto for their full-boat package, incl. Fed/State with E-filing, phone sppt. & JKLasser's advice, for a total of $15.95 (online via https/SSL). Since TurboTaxOnline.com bought out SecureTax's online service, this is really the only alternative left to the "Big 2."

Thanks, I haven't used the web version but that looks like a good deal. The pricing is a bit confusing on State. Is it $16 for Fed. plus $21 for state or $21 for both???

I think its $21 for both. Maybe once I start checking out it will be clear.

If you live in Virginia, don't forget that you can already e-file your taxes for free at http://www.individual.tax.virginia.gov/ so there's no need to pay for a state filing dealy.

I just got done with the Federal and State package from taxact. It took about an hour and a half. This is way better than paying my (former) accountant $250 to do my (simple) taxes.

Taxact gave me a similar federal refund to last year's, and trippled my state refund.

Thanks for the heads-up!
