I am looking at getting a new GPS since the screen on my Garmin GPS45 has developed random horizontal lines of missing pixels.

I was considering the Garmin GPSMAP 76 Cx which costs over A$800, but I have just read a brief review on the Mio DigiWalker P350 which combines a PDA with a built in SiRFStar III GPS, and is available for A$500.

The Mio site is very short on detail regarding things like number of waypoints / tracklog points / routes, and the features of the MioMap software.

Now I realise that the form factor of the Mio is less convenient for handheld use, but the sheer value for money is appealing.

Has anyone had any experience with either of these units or could recommend something else?

I would mostly be using it for handheld use, with some vehicle use (on dash) too.

Thanks!
