Simple question:

I've got some glass milk bottles; I'd like to fill them and then seal them with foil tops, such as Unigate Dairy would have used back in the day.

How?

The first thing you'll need is thicker foil, the foil on milk bottles is/was much thicker than kitchen foil.

A hand-held induction sealer, most likely.

Do you plan on drinking what is inside ???

We use a Aluminium Foil Tape when setting out fireworks, it's sold in screw fix and the like. Often used in window seal and the like. You could fake a top with this stuff without much difficulty. Of course it would be sticky on the underneath and wouldn't be the proper way of doing it.

Yeah. It's for a fancy-dress party, and I was planning on putting White Russians in the bottles...

How about using corks / rubber stoppers instead?

Late reply laugh AFAIK they are/were just crimped on, so thicker foil press down and then hard around the edge should work fine? Maybe run a knife around the rim to get a clean look.
