I'm in the market for a digital voice recorder. Currently I am looking for well known brand name in a price range of around $50 - $80. I hope to find one that has a decent recording time and is able to have the audio downloaded to a computer to be edited. You see I want to start making an "audio diary". If anyone can point me in the right direction it would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

My gf got an Olympus one, a DW-90 I think. Came with a USB cable and you could get the output into WAV. Has two microphone modes, one for up-close and one for lecture mode. Sound seemed ok, UI was vaguely confusing but acceptable.

It's a sample size of one, but hey...

hugo, i went ahead and took your recommendation and got an olympus. its a ds-330, which basically is time same execept has more capacity.

now, what would it take to get native DSS file support into the empeg. will that major change w/ filters in version 3 make this capable?
