I'm curious, how many people here have watched this show? Also, are/were any of the fathers here viewers? I suppose this would only apply to the US folk...

I used to watch it all the time growing up. I really do hope enough money is raised to keep it going, as it was a very enjoyable show, and as they pointed out in the story, was great for its diversity in stories.

I couldn't watch it. I wigged me out to see Geordi without his visor.

The article was talking about how he started it, all Good-Samaritan like to help out the kiddies. As I remember it, it was part of his sentence for a drug conviction. Still, he stayed with it.

What I don't quite get is how much could the program cost to produce? LeVar could show up at the local PBS station by himself and shoot the host segments. And the animations or whatever (if I remember the show correctly) are mostly just pans across still images. To me, that sounds like $1000 an episode, maybe, discounting distribution costs, which I can't imagine are the show's responsibility at PBS.

I loved that show when it first came out... I used to race home after school to watch it. I don't know why I liked it so much - I never read anything.

That was my question too. It says the show cost $2 mil to keep going. I'm assuming that's how much it cost to air it, and not how much it cost to make it, especially when they're only making 4 episodes a year.

Damn... I grew up watching that too...
