I was wondering if the said person could do me a small favor--

A few years ago I was in Chicago visiting some relatives and I had some rolls available at a little place called The Old Barn on Parkside in Burbank. These things were positively incredible. They were utterly astounding. So much so, in fact, that I simply must obtain them!

To this end, I called the restaurant and they insisted that they could not ship me any of these things. Blast!

So, I was wondering if it might be possible for me to have a courier of sorts who might be able to ferry these things to me, for compensation, of course, so I might have them again. It sounds stupid, I know, but you obviously haven't had these rolls--they're really amazing.

hmm, it looks like it's just south of midway, so that puts it ten miles or so from here. i've never been to the restaurant, though. what makes the rolls so amazing?

Stop on by and ask them for a sample. If they're still the way they were, there need be no explanation

Wow. In the long list of strange threads, this certainly ranks among them.

Might the rolls get a bit stale during transit? How far away are you from that area?

Anyway, I know how develish a great roll can be. There's a good small chain restaurant in my area that serves these particular bits of bread of their own creation (they're shaped like donut holes but are soft and fluffy and sprinkled with salt), and they supply you with creamy, whipped garlic butter...............damn you!!

I was thinking they would survive in a gladware container, and those things are light enough that shipping them around wouldn't cause that much of a weight problem.

What exactly is so amazing about these rolls? I can't go over and have a look as it's a bit far to get lunch for me...
