I have some of these, which are basically the same thing. I haven't used them in a few months, but they were pretty kewl, I'd say. One thing that was a little annoying, and I don't know if this has changed, is the drivers that had the support for them were pretty outdated and I didn't want to take the performance hit by using the old drivers just to gain the functionality of the glasses. That's not their fault though. Now I don't even have a Windows machine at home, so they're sitting on a shelf.

Oh, another thing is that they take some getting used to. They can give you headaches very easily, and you have to train your eyes to be able to relax with them on. Only took me a few hours to do this. Most importantly, there are some people that can't use them at all. My sister tried to use them a few times and just couldn't see the 3D effect at all. Basically, if you can't see the stereographic images (stereograms), like the ones here, you won't be able to use the 3D glasses.

I haven't tried those specifically, but I've wanted a pair of these for a LONG time.

I had a pair of 3d glasses that included a 3D version of descent in like 1995. It was WAAAY cool and worked like a champ. Only problem was that it was so real, my inner ear did NOT agree with my eyes and I had to take them off after a few hours to run to the restroom and hug the toilet (not really, but it did make me nauseous). I wonder how the "works with any directx game" part works.

No clue, but I don't think so.

I wonder how the "works with any directx game" part works.

Probably just grabs the 3d data and sends it out as 2 images to the glasses instead of flattening it down to 2d like a normal display driver.

Does it really feel 3D, or does it feel like multiple levels of 2D planes, as if there are a bunch of cardboard cutouts different distances away? That's the effect I always got at 3D movies.

Hmm... I'd say something somewhere in the middle, but probably more towards the latter. It does look like a "cheap" 3D, if that makes any sense.

I tell you, the version of descent 3D I had looked absolutely completely flawless. You have to figure that the game really needs to be designed for it to look proper though.

Ricin, can the computer ones be used with the television somehow?

Nope. The adapter plugs into the video card, then the monitor gets plugged into the adapter. This allows the glasses to synchronize with the refresh rate.
