Either. More common modern usage is without the hyphen. And it'd be "cöordinate" (with the diacritic over the first vowel) if you decided to use a diaeresis, which you shouldn't.

Yeah, I thought of similar examples, too. But I could swear that it's the first one in "coordinate". Maybe because it's the same vowel twice? Or maybe I'm just completely wrong. Regardless, it's moot since no one (noöne?) uses diaereses any more anyway. At least unless they're being pretentious.

Yeah. The second vowel. Everyone else is right. (It just looked funny to me that way and that's usually enough for my brain. Not this time.)

Hey! Hope you mean in English or else we are a pretentious bunch over here in Sweden...
But we use 'ä' and 'ö' as their own letters, part of the alphabet along with 'å', tacked on at the end after the 'z'...

Yeah. In English. You Swedes (and Germans and Norwegians and Danes) are pretentious regardless of your diacritics.
