Tried out mt-daapd and I have to say I'm pretty impressed. The transcoding support is sketchy in the stable release, though, and the cvs version is unavailable at the moment (his server seems to be down and I can't find a mirror).

Does anyone by chance have a stashed copy of one of the cvs versions, or happen to know of a mirror where I can get one? I really need the transcoding support.

Thanks!

I was gonna send you a tarball, but it looks like http://nightlies.mt-daapd.org/ is back in business.

Just today I started looking into setting up a Kurobox with mt-daapd or Slimserver. Long story short, abandoned the Kurobox, but still looking for a music server to install on (more than likely) a Windows machine. Leaning toward Slimserver still because of its established history. Any words of advice?

I know nothing about slimserver, but mt-daapd serves my needs nicely, where "my needs" are defined as a desire to have my MP3 collection on my Linux fileserver at home shared to iTunes clients at home and at work. That's pretty much all I use it for, and it does that very well.
