Hey all,

We are heading to Ottawa for the upcoming long weekend (in Canada, Nov 11th is a holiday). We have the full day of the 10th to drive around and see whatever we want. We have already been to Parliament Hill, the Mint, the War Museum, the big Museum (Civilization??) in Gatineau and a few other things.

I'm trying to find something different and interesting to see while we are there. Flying around in Google Earth has left me a little unimpressed so far.

Does anyone (Mark??) have any ideas to offer? Maybe Mark's workshop would be interesting...

TIA!

Rene

Ottawa is pretty notorious for its euphemistically named "coffee shops" where you can sit in a low-key atmosphere and try out some Numero Uno, #2 Amber, or, if you think you are hard core enough, some #3.

You'll have to ask around, but these spots aren't hard to find.

I think you're confusing us with our west coast cousin, Whistler.

Well, I certainly do find it interesting down there!

SWMBO & I have plans to be in Toronto that weekend, but when I get back (I'm working in Belleville this week), we'll suss up the situation and consider swapping weekends. If I'm in town, we certainly must get together for a geocache at the very least.

Cheers

Not sure if this is different or interesting enough for you - Diefenbunker

Otherwise I can recommend Gatineau Park if your looking for an outdoor activity

Don't change on account of us. If you are around it would be great to hook up some time. I'm only really mobile on Thursday, but she has plans for some shopping that day. Friday is still kind of up in the air. I'd love to be at the War Museum for the 11 AM ceremonies. Saturday is our Party with the friends day/night. Sunday is recovery day and flying back home day. I also have to keep in mind that swmbo is about 4 months pregnant and might not be willing or able to do some hunting around in the bogs and bushes of Ottawa.

I will have my GPS loaded up with caches and ready to go just in case!

Later

Rene
