I'm trying to track down an old program that I remember using a few times. I believe it was in the Windows 3.1 days, but it could have been early 95/98. I'm pretty sure it came on one of those 16 thousand shareware programs on one CD deals.

The program was a quiz-like game about automobile engines. It would animate an isometric engine and then stop and tell you the symptom(s). "Engine turns over but no combustion is heard." You would then attempt to choose the correct diagnosis.

Anyone remember using such a program?

Damn. I just got rid of most of my old ridiculous-amount-of-shareware-on-a-disc for BBSes collections. I'll take a look, though, just in case.

BTW, Happy Birthday!

Most likely: A pair (or more than two) of crossed plug wires.
Possible: Ignition timing too advanced.

That would be an awesome web app.

Is the software still out there? Or did you find it on a disk at home?

I did not chime in with my suggestion as it predates even windows 3.1, but I used to play with Injured Engine on my Apple IIe. That was quite educative for a 10 years old kid.

I think you can play it online via an emulator plugin.

Wow, I remember that too! It was before 1998, though! I remember because I stopped using DOS+Win 3.1 in 95/96 and moved to OS/2 and then NT4.0, so this predates 96 at least...
