in order to compensate for some shortcomings in the new speakers i installed (kicker ks 6.2 components) i increased the equalizer settings to enhance the midrange (i dont know what frequencies, but lets say the middle three)

what happened was i began to hear stray sounds similiar to what you would hear if you had a bad rip of a cd..

i initially thought that my HDD was damaged due to the high tempatures in the area (new jersey)...but then rememberd that i tweaked the equalizer...and returned the settings back to flat and the problem went away...

anybody have similiar problems or think of a reason why i should hear these pops and squeaks when using the equalizer....the problem was evident at all volume levels
