If I insert my empeg into the sled in the car with the car running and the headlights already on the LED's turn off indefinitely.
If I turn the headlights off, then on again that seems to reset them back to normal functionality.

Insert Empeg with headlights off, and then turn the headlights on, it works as advertised.

Anybody else notice this, or is just me and my Volkswagen?

All other headlight related systems seem to work fine.

I assume that you're running Hijack v263, as you're not reporting psychadelic LEDs with the headlights on.

Is this a constant thing? Or only sometimes?

Various people (including me) have seen this problem intermittently at boot up - for some reason the very first button LED command sometimes gets lost - ragardless of the headlights are on or off. But I haven't seen anyone say that it is reproduceable every time yet. Hijack v263 has changed the dimmer detection logic though - this should be more robust than it was before, although I'm quite prepared to investigate allegations of new bugs

I'll take another look later, but can you confirm HJ version and whether it was solidly or intermittantly reproduceable?

This was on HJ 262 and was infinitely reproducable.
Let me update it and try it again.

Woah...
Super-far-out LED blinkage and random dimmer settings with HJ 265.
Still kills the LED's when I put the empeg in with the headlights on, but now when I toggle the headlight switch to reset them, I seem to end up at a random spot in the spectrum of dimmer levels. And the VFD is effected now too.

Just my most recent observations.
And this is in a 95 VW Golf.

Hmm. Sounds like what I had *before* my changes. I'll have to take another look later. I'm guessing that I've overcooked my timing change.
