I would like to have a volume override option for when the player switches to TP. I can imagine that while listening to the DSP at -5db, the sudden change to speach would be a bit jarring.

My old Kenwood would allow you to set a TP volume.

I would suggest having a volume item in the TP menu which just bought up the standard volume control but with a title of "Traffic Volume".

I think it also WBNI it ramped back up to DSP or other source at the end of the transmission.

Just my threepenny bits!

Well everyone seems to write "my 2 cents" and I much prefer threepenny bits, especially in the sentence:

About as much use as threepenny bits on a fish!

I must admit I like threepenny bits rather a lot too .

Has someone turned the heating up in here? It's starting to get warm.

Oh now we're back on the Cockney Rhyming Slang thread - sorry, did try to find the link but my search must have been off.

Seconded. My factory stereo had this, and it's good. That said, I think traffic news comes on a bit louder already, though that could just be that I get louder stations on TA than what I normally listen to.

(Did mean to respond to this when you posted, but I got all distracted by talk of old coinage. Or something)

That's what worries me, a bit louder may cause me harm whilst listening to loud bangin' tunes. I think if you could set an absolute volume for TP as opposed to a "hush" type decrease then the benefits would be twofold:

Maybe you want your music quiet while you chat but you do want to hear the TP when it starts (Business trips)

Maybe you're driving on your own with loud music but do not want to be shrieked at by the flying eye.

Edit: Shrieked at by the Flying Eye.

Hmm, looks a bit dubious when I see it now, conjures up all sorts of images. Maybe its because I work for a Japanese company.
