Whoops, I was mistaken -- thanks for calling me on that. After applying power to the device, it boots up, displays its logo(s), then goes into standby. Bringing it back from standby causes it to continue playing where it left off.

I guess the easiest way to implement what I'm looking for is to add the ability to fast-forward to the end of the current playlist.

Deadfire: I'm not looking to leave the unit powered up and inactive for any length of time -- I agree that that'd be dumb, when the unit isn't playing music it should probably be in standby.

I just think it'd be nice to be able to get in my car, turn on my empeg, then choose the music I'd like to hear in blissful silence. Sure, I really enjoy Kompressor, but when my grandmother gets in my car I don't want her to have a heart attack.
