As I understand it, ID3v2 is in there since beta 11, but in a "transparent" fashion: i.e., it's not doing anything special with the extra tags. Emplode just reads the standard fields from ID3v2 tags the same way it did for ID3v1 tags. In other words, it'll read title/album/artist/year/genre/comment from the ID3v2 tag and put that into the database, and that's all. So aside from breaking the 30-character limit of the ID3v1 spec, nothing spectacular is happening with the ID3v2 support.
