My rental car right now only has a tape player,
so by pure accident I stumbled over the irok 300w and ordered it yesterday.
Should be here tomorrow.
I'll give you some thought on it next week.

About the power supply:
You need 3 parts and solder them together to get to three volts - well, two parts if you use a zdiode - so where is the problem ?!
