nah, the cap just wasn't rated for a high enough voltage. I guess (according to Bob Roberts) that some manufacturers would modify the monitor boards for certain games beyond the spec for that model. For instance, the cap that blew was supposed to be (according to the monitor spec for that series) a 47uF 160V. The cap i took off was a 47uF 250V and the cap i put on was a 47uF 200V. I figured since it was only supposed to be a 160V, the 200V would handle it fine. Nope... blew up. The 250V seems to be handling it now. If that one blows... there's probably a problem elsewhere as it's getting way to much current.
