I had a problem somthing like this and I had to edit the ini file directly to restore thie missing stuff on my mark2a. I dont know about the mark1 but the mark2a has a line in the ini file just for the info on the screen in aux mode. Mine did have a meter but everything else was missing, I just relabled it in the ini and it came back.
