Anyone with a PS2 ever tried to do anamporphic with it?

I haven't -- my PS2 is plugged into a lowly 14" Sony. However, I will say this: is this with the stock DVD player software on the PS2?

Shortly after I got my PS2, I bought the DVD remote, which came with upgraded DVD playback software. The quality (particularly with picture/audio sync) was much improved. Maybe you need this to get anamorphic working properly?

Even if you don't, I can highly recommend the PS2 remote anyway.
