I took special care to notice if I would break any seals when opening the drive. One of the screws was hidden under a sticker that I was able to remove and replace without a problem.

When I ran the fitness test after my repair it found the drive and problems. I was able to use that and generated an RMA.

I was also able to get much of the data off the HD. It’s still bad but it at least spins-up now. I believe most of the damage occurred in the head crash. The platter was REALLY locked-up.
