Ok, I will do these steps as told:

>reinsert, notice it has hung again, swear loudly, push skip, pull it and reinsert again

Especially the point swear loudly seems to be important, because this is what I do every time it hangs :-).

I never thought of pressing skip and then rebooting the machine. This will stay in my mind.

Every day when it hangs I think about downgrading to my good old 2.0 beta, because the final 2.0 had bugs, too.
