I find minidisk to be very usefull where mp3 is still "not there" it's very inexpensive.. and I have several friends with players/recorders. it's much easier, and less expensive to take my minidisk on airplane trips than it would be to take a compact-flash type player, (besides the $1/min recording costs of compact flash) i can get a dozen minidisks for the price of a 32mb compact flash.. and get 20-30 times more music on it. and disk recorders are still a bit spendy. (i blew all my $ on the empeg)

I figured the IP-Bus thing would be an interesting hack. being able to support a 6 or 12 disk changer, or a minidisk player would be interesting.
