There is a way that you can pop the connectors out of the docking assembly. In fact, the original Mark2 sleds had problems where they would pull out on their own. You should be able to (with a bit of effort) pop out the wire stubs from the connector, attach proper pins and reassemble the connector. Looking for instructions on that now... Follow the links on that FAQ page for details on how to repair / replace the wires in the harness.
