Ah. I've had keyboard problems on several Dells and it's either been a damaged trace inside or one of the keyswitches breaking. The only way to fix it is to replace the entire keyboard as they're a "sealed" unit. It's a 5 minute job which you can do with a single screwdriver however and the keyboard units aren't expensive. You just have to get the right one for the laptop model.
