What is the difference between a no-slip knob and a regular knob (no bad jokes please!) ?? Does it have some rubber sleeve around it?

The "fins" which hold the knob to the shaft are thicker and shaped differently. It's essentially a tighter fit.

When I got my replacement knob, it also came with a small rubber washer. However, I didn't know what to do with the washer and it didn't seem to be necessary. So I left it off. The new knob works great.
