Not that it necessarily makes them worth the money (I personally can't tell the difference from the ER6) but the Etymotic ER4 is made with wire that's slightly rubberised and much less flexible than normal headphone wires -- not inflexible enough to be a problem, but inflexible enough that it never seems to tie itself in knots.
